Argentine international affairs analyst Christian Lamesa told Sputnik News that the UK and France are scheming to provide nuclear weapons to Ukraine, gambling that the US may support them in the event of a nuclear confrontation.
Lamesa said: "I think they have miscalculated... on the contrary, the US is likely to directly walk away and leave Paris and London to face everything on their own."
On February 24, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service's news office released a statement saying that the UK and France were preparing to transfer nuclear weapons to Ukraine. According to the agency, the plan of European countries is that if Kyiv possesses nuclear weapons, or at least has so-called "dirty bombs," it could secure more favorable conditions for ending the combat operations.
President of Russia's press secretary Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the intention to provide nuclear weapons to Ukraine is an open violation of international law.
