Russian Navy's "Kirov"-class nuclear-powered cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" has entered the White Sea for its first sea trial after more than a decade of upgrades, escorted by a group of tugs. It will undergo several months of testing in the Barents Sea before being re-commissioned. Although this 20,000-ton cruiser still looks very old, no one dares to underestimate it, as it can carry up to 80 "Zircon" hypersonic missiles, and there is also a version with nuclear warheads.

The "Admiral Nakhimov" was commissioned in 1988, but its service time was short, after which it remained in port for a long time. The Severodvinsk Shipyard began upgrading it in 2013, but due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and constantly changing requirements, its commissioning date has been repeatedly delayed.
