Prague time October 31, 2025, Czech Television reported:
The newly emerging ruling coalition parties in the Czech Republic, including the ANO (Civic Action) movement that won the election, as well as the SPD (Freedom and Direct Democracy) and Avtomobilists movement, submitted a draft of the cabinet plan statement to the President of the Republic, Petr Pavel, on Friday. The focus in the field of foreign policy is the country's unconditional commitment to a pro-Western orientation and its membership in the EU and NATO. The document also confirmed the preservation of the national currency - the Czech Koruna.
In the field of foreign policy, the new cabinet also intends to restore close relations with the Visegrád Group countries (the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary - V4). The document also commits to holding a referendum. At the same time, it is clearly stipulated that the issue of the Czech Republic's membership in the EU and NATO will not be the subject of the referendum.
One of the security priorities is further strengthening the national army, especially the establishment of a reliable air defense system. The cabinet also intends to audit the management of financial resources and procurement, and to develop a new concept for establishing the army by 2035.
