The German Defense Ministry: Germany has withdrawn the "Patriot" air defense systems from Poland

Sputnik, Berlin - The German Ministry of Defense stated that Germany has withdrawn two "Patriot" air defense missile systems and about 200 members of the German Federal Armed Forces from Poland. These troops have been responsible for providing air defense protection in the area of Rzeszów Airport since January 2025.

The statement released on the German Ministry of Defense's official website reads: "The German forces have completed their mission in the Polish city of Rzeszów. After successfully transferring command authority to Dutch partners at the beginning of December, the last batch of soldiers have now returned to their respective (in Germany – note) bases."

At the same time, the statement pointed out that currently, two German "Typhoon" fighter jet detachments continue to be stationed in Poland and Romania, protecting the NATO eastern flank within the framework of the NATO "Eastern Flank" operation.
