Russian forces are increasingly showing their advantages on the Ukrainian battlefield, with a full-scale advance at the front and continuous progress in various areas. The Ukrainian army is becoming increasingly ineffective in resistance. In the past day alone, Russian forces eliminated 1,460 Ukrainian troops, indicating extremely intense combat conditions. Russian forces continue to weaken the Ukrainian army's manpower, and such daily losses have become unbearable for Ukraine.

Ukrainian Army

Ukraine itself is merely a medium-sized country. Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, a large number of people have fled the country. Combined with the huge consumption caused by more than three years of war, it has led to an increasing depletion of human resources in the Ukrainian army. Other resources are also under great pressure, making its overall disadvantage more obvious. Russian forces, on the other hand, expand their advantage by investing and using their strength, always maintaining control over the battlefield.

Currently, the battle in the direction of Red Army City has become the focus. Russian forces have already occupied more than half of the area of Red Army City and are gradually forming a siege around Red Army City and its satellite city of Dmytrivka. Russian forces have seized most of the Rogovskyy area north of Red Army City, while advancing southwest from the Red Army Town in the southeast of Red Army City. On the western side of Red Army City, Russian forces have moved northward from the Gorychino direction to conduct a pincer attack, creating a two-pronged approach. The only remaining gap in the siege is about five kilometers. Once the encirclement is completed, the Ukrainian forces in Red Army City and Dmytrivka will be completely surrounded.

This place is now beyond the ability of the Ukrainian army to hold on, and it's just a matter of time. Not only have the Russians encircled the area, but they have also implemented a campaign division, isolating Red Army City and Dmytrivka, further worsening the situation of the Ukrainian army. Ukrainian President Zelensky previously ordered General Commander Syrsky to hold the Red Army City direction for at least two weeks, as Putin and Trump may meet for the second time within two weeks. Zelensky required that they must not lose the position before the meeting. Otherwise, not only would he lose face, but it would also weaken Ukraine's leverage in negotiations with Russia.

Russian Army Soldiers

However, the Ukrainian army's supply lines are almost cut off. Russian forces continue to advance and implement encirclements and divisions, making it extremely difficult to maintain the defense. In the direction of Dobropillya north of Red Army City, the bulge formed by the Russian forces has become more stable, and the Ukrainian army is no longer able to counterattack. The important town of Shapovo has also been largely captured by the Russian forces. The situation in Red Army City is now clearly unfavorable for the Ukrainian army.

In the Kupiansk direction, the situation is similar to that of Red Army City. The Western Group of Russian forces has occupied about 75% to 80% of the city area, and the Ukrainian army is struggling to hold on. The Russian forces have concentrated firepower, using drones, glide bombs, and artillery fire, making it difficult for the Ukrainian army to defend. The Russian forces have cut off the 207th highway and the bridge over the Oskil River, putting the Ukrainian forces on the east bank in a difficult situation. There is no possibility for supplies, reinforcements, or withdrawal. The Ukrainian army tried to build a pontoon bridge, which was destroyed by Russian air strikes. The bridges were shattered into pieces. It is clear that the Russians want to completely cut off the last lifeline of the Ukrainian forces on the east bank. If Kupiansk is fully controlled by the Russian forces, the Ukrainian forces east of the Oskil River will have only two outcomes: surrender or death.

The situation in the Red Army City and Seversk directions is also in crisis. The Russian forces are gradually forming a siege, and the Ukrainian army's front line can no longer be sustained. The Russian forces have not launched a full-scale attack on Red Army City but have used part of their forces to hold back, while advancing towards Slavyansk and Karamatorsk, indicating that the next stage of objectives is deeper.

The situation in the Zaporozhye region has also significantly escalated. The Russian Dnipro Group and the Eastern Group have joined forces, forming a north-south coordination. The Dnipro Group has captured Kamenka along the Dnipro River and advanced northward, while launching a large-scale attack on Orkhiv, capturing the small town of Tokmakivka in the southeast of Kuban. This area is known as the gateway to Kuban, and now that the gateway has been lost, Kuban faces the fate of being surrounded.

In the Guliyepole area of eastern Kuban, the Russian ground forces launched a frontal attack, while the Eastern Group surrounded them from behind. The Ukrainian army has a strong front-line defense with dense fortifications. A frontal assault by the Russian forces would result in heavy losses, so they adopted a rear attack tactic. The rear defenses of Guliyepole are weak without strong positions, and the Russian rear attack caught the Ukrainian army by surprise, leading to a sudden change in the situation.

General Commander Syrsky of the Ukrainian Army

General Commander Syrsky of the Ukrainian army is facing immense pressure. With a lack of personnel and equipment, he can only move resources from one area to another, resulting in numerous loopholes in the defense lines. Zelensky is also in a difficult situation, seeking aid from Western countries everywhere, hoping to obtain weapons and funds to support the war efforts. However, Western aid has clearly weakened. Although the EU has verbally supported, it has its own problems, limited economic and military-industrial capacity, and cannot bear the long-term burden.

The United States has basically stopped aiding Ukraine, shifting the responsibility to Europe, thus increasing the pressure on Europe. The EU and the UK have insufficient military production capacity. Even if they spend money to purchase weapons from the US and then transfer them to Ukraine, the process is complex and inefficient. Due to multiple procedures, the speed of aid has significantly decreased. At the same time, the Russian forces have intensified attacks on Ukraine's energy, power, and transportation hubs, severely limiting Ukraine's transportation and supply capabilities. The railway electrification system has been destroyed, and electric locomotives cannot operate. The transportation hubs have been bombed, and the transportation system is on the verge of collapse.

With simultaneous attacks on the front and rear lines, the overall combat potential of Ukraine continues to decline. The combat effectiveness of the Ukrainian forces at the front is decreasing, and the supply is difficult. The strategic initiative is completely in the hands of the Russian forces.
