Repeated explosions, Musk's giant rocket is set for new tests!
SpaceX has always adhered to its "fail fast, learn fast" spirit.
AFP report August 15, 2025.
Elon Musk's SpaceX announced on Friday that its giant rocket, Starship, is planned to conduct a new flight test next weekend, following several previous tests that ended in violent explosions.
The largest and most powerful launch vehicle in history is planned to send Americans back to the Moon, which is the core of Elon Musk's vision for colonizing Mars.
However, the continuous explosions have caused debris to fall like rain on the Caribbean islands and disrupted flights, increasing pressure on SpaceX to achieve smoother tests.
SpaceX stated on its website that the tenth test flight of the rocket will be launched from its Starbase facility in Texas on August 24.
SpaceX has been betting on its "fail fast, learn fast" philosophy - which helped it dominate commercial spaceflight - will succeed again.
But recent setbacks, including an explosion during a routine ground test in June, have raised serious doubts about the progress of Starship.
Musk, known for his extremely ambitious plans, insists that the rocket will launch its first uncrewed mission to Mars next year.
SpaceX has also faced severe criticism for the impact of its launches on people and the environment near the launch site.
However, after the U.S. aviation regulator approved increasing its annual number of launches from 5 to 25, more Starship tests are expected in the coming months.
