Chinese drone manufacturer DJI sues the U.S. Federal Communications Commission

On February 20, Chinese drone manufacturer DJI Innovation formally filed an appeal with the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, challenging the decision of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on December 23, 2025, to include DJI and its products in the "Untrusted Supplier List."

DJI issued a statement on February 24, stating that the appeal aims to safeguard DJI Innovation's legitimate rights and interests, as well as the interests of American consumers and the broader agricultural industry users who rely on DJI products but are affected by the ban.

DJI stated that being listed on the "Untrusted Supplier List" has defects both procedurally and substantively, and the FCC has not identified any national security threats related to the company or its products. These defects violate the U.S. Constitution and federal laws.
