A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck today in Japan's northeastern region. According to data from the Japan Meteorological Agency, the epicenter was located in the Pacific Ocean east of Iwate Prefecture, with a focal depth of 50 kilometers.
Following the quake, authorities initially issued a tsunami warning, but lifted the alert a few minutes later. There are currently no reports of casualties or property damage.
