Chair of the Senate of Cambodia, Hun Sen, extends congratulations to France on its National Day!

Today, the Chairman of the Senate of Cambodia, Prince Norodom Ham, called the Chairman of the Senate of the French Republic, Gérard Larcher, to extend his congratulations on the French National Day.

"The celebrations of the French National Day on July 14 are a highest tribute to all countries committed to freedom, democracy, and respect for international law."

Hun Sen said that when the territorial integrity of Cambodia is threatened, it believes France will support its institutions in seeking justice through the highest level of international law.

Hun Sen believes that the Francophone Heads of State Conference will be held in Cambodia in 2026, which is an opportunity to celebrate and promote multilateral relations between the parliaments of the Francophone countries.

"To date, the serious global challenges we have faced have hindered our common aspirations to gather in Phnom Penh. I look forward to welcoming you to Cambodia in 2026, and our two countries will elevate bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership. It is timely and appropriate for us to jointly consider re-evaluating the relationship between our two parliaments."
