USS Gerald R. Ford Aircraft Carrier Caught Fire Near the Red Sea!
The U.S. Fifth Fleet confirmed that the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, which is conducting the "Epic Fury" military operation against Iran in the Red Sea, caught fire.
The fire started in the main laundry room of the carrier. The cause of the fire is unrelated to the military operation and the fire has been controlled. The fire did not damage the ship's (AU) propulsion system, and the carrier remains fully operational. Injured sailors have received medical treatment and are not in danger of losing their lives.
The USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier did not proceed as expected to the Gulf of Oman to meet the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, but instead remained in the Red Sea near Saudi Arabia. There is currently also a French Mistral-class amphibious assault ship stationed in this area, and the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is obviously also continuing its deployment here.
