Foreign media: The Philippines will resume its e-visa program for Chinese tourists in November 2025, marking the restart after a two-year suspension since December 2023.
Chinese citizens (including those from Hong Kong and Macau) can apply online for a short-term tourist or business visa of up to 14 days. Initially, it will only be available for entry at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila and Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Previously, the program was suspended due to the need for "re-evaluation," and applications had to be processed through embassies and consulates.
Philippine Tourism Minister Christina Frasco stated that the restart is necessary, but market recovery takes time. This move aims to enhance the Philippines' tourism competitiveness in the ASEAN region and attract more Chinese tourists.
