Tula River Expressway International Public Bidding Announcement Reissued
UB News Bureau, Ulaanbaatar, April 22 - According to the news office of the Capital Governor, the Tula River Expressway is one of the projects under the scope of the 24 Major Development Projects for Ulaanbaatar to expand the capital's road network. The aforementioned expressway is 32 kilometers long with six lanes in total, starting from the long-distance bus station in the Bayanzurkh District and the road from Ulaanbaatar Nalaiha District to the safety loop separating the westernmost part of the capital from the roads leading to the western provinces. This project is of great significance for alleviating traffic congestion in the city center, improving traffic efficiency, promoting economic growth, saving citizens' time, and constructing a modern standard road network.
The Tula River Expressway is part of the new ring road, planning to build double-deck intersections at eight locations, construct bridges totaling 9,870 meters in length at thirteen locations, and build tunnels totaling 370 meters in length at seven locations. For instance, it will construct an important channel for entering and exiting the city and connecting the northern part of the city. Multi-level intersections on the inner ring road and south of the National Park will connect the Od-Temlekh Bridge, Bogd Mountain Tunnel, and Xiongnu City, providing opportunities for traffic outflow in the urban area.
In addition, the planned multi-level intersections on the western safety loop of Ulaanbaatar will be connected to the branch roads leading to the western provinces, the longitudinal axis road of Ulaanbaatar, and Ring Roads No. 1 and No. 2, forming a ring road network around Ulaanbaatar. The project is planned to be implemented from 2025 to 2027 and will be completed in phases according to international standards.
