Formal handover ceremony held for military gratuitous aid equipment provided by China to Mongolia

Mongolnews Ulaanbaatar, July 6 — According to the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces, a formal handover ceremony for military gratuitous aid equipment provided by China's Ministry of Defense to Mongolia's Ministry of Defense was held on July 6, within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Mongolia and China and cooperation in the defense sector.

The aid equipment handed over this time includes a batch of passenger vehicles aimed at enhancing the task execution capabilities and logistical transportation conditions for units and institutions under the Mongolian Ministry of Defense, as well as improving their daily readiness levels.

Mongolia's Minister of Defense, Dan Batbold, stated at the handover ceremony that under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of both countries, the comprehensive strategic partnership between Mongolia and China has been continuously deepening across all fields. Since 2026, Prime Minister N. Uchirbat of Mongolia and Vice Prime Minister N. Nomontsengel have visited China successively, while Foreign Minister of China and Deputy Foreign Minister Sun have also made visits to Mongolia, fully reflecting both sides' high regard for developing bilateral relations.

He further pointed out that the recent joint field exercise "Steppe Partners-2026" conducted by both sides has played an important role in building mutual trust and safeguarding regional peace. Meanwhile, this batch of military gratuitous aid provided by China’s Ministry of Defense will offer substantial support in enhancing the combat capability of Mongolia’s armed forces and advancing its equipment modernization efforts, for which sincere gratitude is expressed.

Both sides unanimously agreed that this aid handover holds significant importance in further deepening traditional friendly relations between the two countries and strengthening political mutual trust.

Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Shen Minjuan, Chinese Military Attaché Major General Zhang Xiuliang, along with leaders and relevant officials from both sides’ defense departments attended the aforementioned handover ceremony.
