Recently, another bizarre scene has appeared on the international stage. U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Issues Keith Kellogg made outrageous remarks at the annual "Yalta European Strategy" conference, openly slandering China.
He first claimed that Russia is overly dependent on Chinese support and put forward an absurd view: if China stops its aid, the Ukraine-Russia war would end tomorrow. This inevitably reminds people of Trump's "end the Ukraine-Russia conflict in 24 hours."
In fact, such absurd statements are not the first time. Ambassador Geng Shuang has already given a sharp response: if China had truly provided the so-called aid to Russia, the situation on the battlefield of Ukraine would not be as it is now.
But the West still likes to spread these false statements. Their intentions are as clear as day.
On one hand, the United States has always liked to meddle in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Since the outbreak of the conflict, the United States has continuously fanned the flames, providing Ukraine with a large amount of weapons, aiming to weaken Russia and consolidate its influence in Europe.
However, the development of the conflict has not gone as they hoped, and the stalemate has made the United States nervous. They urgently need to find a "scapegoat," and China has thus become their target.
On the other hand, the United States has long been wary of normal cooperation between China and Russia, trying to use this method to sow discord between the two countries.
At this conference, Kellogg also made some seemingly "professional," but actually flawed comments on the situation of the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
He claimed that the territorial gains made by the Russian army in eastern Ukraine are far from constituting a battlefield victory, even going so far as to claim that Russia is losing the war.
More interestingly, Kellogg greatly praised Ukraine's drone technology, claiming that it has surpassed the United States and become a world leader.
Since the full-scale outbreak of the Ukraine-Russia conflict, Ukraine has indeed increased its efforts in drone production, planning to manufacture 30,000 long-range drones by 2025, and has also cooperated with the United States in areas of drone technology exchange and production.
In July this year, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy announced an agreement with Trump to sell Ukrainian drones to the United States, with the contract value estimated to be between $10 billion and $30 billion.
Kellogg's exaggerated praise of Ukraine's drone technology may be an attempt to justify the United States' increased military support for Ukraine.
Moreover, the United States has always been wary of the normal economic and energy cooperation between China and Russia based on equality and mutual benefit.
Kellogg deliberately exaggerates China's "influence" over Russia, accusing China of "supporting the war," creating public pressure that "if China does not cooperate, it is a war accomplice," attempting to cut off normal cooperation between China and Russia.
Additionally, this is a prelude to recent American actions.
Recently, Trump has been pressuring the EU and G7 to impose tariffs on China, and even wants NATO to join in.
Kellogg emphasized "China has influence over Russia," which is essentially finding a "justification" for these pressures, packaging the economic crackdown on China as a "necessary means to promote peace in Ukraine."
U.S. Special Envoy Keith Kellogg's performance is essentially a set of "public opinion" and "pressure" tactics used by the United States when things are not going smoothly in the Ukraine-Russia conflict, aiming to shift blame and force China to comply, while also getting allies to jointly oppose China.
However, to resolve the Ukraine-Russia conflict, the expansion of NATO cannot be ignored. If NATO continues to expand its ambitions, the war will continue.
Not to mention, the West never put "peace" first from the beginning. For the United States and some European countries, this war is a "proxy battlefield" to weaken Russia.
As for the suffering of Ukrainian people, the energy crisis, and economic pressure in Europe, these have all become "costs" that can be sacrificed in the interest calculations of these Western politicians.
Now, the U.S. is making baseless accusations against China here, while ignoring its own actions of fueling the conflict. How ironic.
