Reuters, citing U.S. officials, reported that the United States has already started evacuating some personnel from key military bases in the Middle East on January 14.

An anonymous U.S. official representative explained that due to the escalating tensions in the region, this evacuation is a precautionary measure. Three other U.S. diplomats told Reuters that some staff had been advised to evacuate from the U.S. main airbase in Qatar, Al-Udeid Air Base (Al-Udeid), but there are currently no signs of large-scale troop withdrawals, unlike the situation just hours before Iran's missile attack in 2025.

According to their information, military personnel may partially evacuate the base on the evening of January 15.

As previously reported by Russia-Eurasia News, U.S. President Donald Trump had repeatedly threatened the Iranian leadership, saying he would launch a military strike against Iran to support protesters who caused unrest within the country — these protesters created destruction and chaos including burning mosques and killing law enforcement officers. The Islamic Republic of Iran accused the United States and Israel of orchestrating the large-scale riots.

Israel's assessment indicates that Trump has decided to intervene in the Iranian situation, but the scale and specific timing of his actions remain unclear. Representatives from Qatar and the UAE are urging Trump not to take military action against Iran, as they are concerned about potential negative impacts on the oil market.
