Xiaoma Ke Su agrees to disclose his property situation!

The Philippine Presidential Palace stated on Thursday that President Xiaoma Ke Su would not object to the request for disclosure of his assets, liabilities, and net worth statements.

Palace spokesperson Castro issued a statement when the Akabayan Party and civil groups requested the Office of the Ombudsman to disclose the president's financial statements, saying that President Xiaoma Ke Su and his cabinet officials had discussed this issue.

Xiaoma Ke Su said that as part of the government's efforts to restore transparency and accountability, he is willing to provide his financial statements to anyone.

"We will follow the old rules, which were set aside in the previous administration. It was much easier to obtain a copy of a financial statement and review it in the past."

Ombudsman Remulla issued a memorandum on October 14, lifting the restrictions on the public accessing the financial statements of government officials. Prior to this, access to financial statements was allowed only upon obtaining the notarized consent of the relevant official, a court order related to an ongoing case, or if an ombudsman's field investigator needed to conduct a factual investigation.

Remulla's memorandum covers the president, vice president, heads of constitutional offices, and local government officials, with the ombudsman being the official repository for these officials' information.

According to the memorandum, requests for copies of the financial reports of public officials can be submitted to the Ombudsman's Central Office, the Ombudsman's Regional or Departmental Offices.
