Naturally, for some production lines and factories that manufacture the most advanced chips, since domestic equipment has not yet broken through or is unstable in quality, they are temporarily exempt from the 50% requirement.
This incident proves that Southeast University has initially established a basically complete chip industry chain, covering three core equipment needed for chip manufacturing: etching machines (commercially mass-produced), film deposition machines (commercially mass-produced), and lithography machines (small-scale trial production of DUV lithography machines, and prototype machines developed for EUV lithography). Additionally, all the links such as photoresists and special gases are basically produced domestically; thus, Southeast University has the confidence to require that newly built chip manufacturing lines and factories must have 50% domestically produced equipment.
This event is a major positive development for domestic chip equipment manufacturers and semiconductor-related stocks: currently, China's chip production capacity accounts for 30% of the global share, and it continues to expand; if the domestic equipment used in Chinese chip manufacturing can increase from the current 25% to over 50%, it will bring more than $12.5 billion (approximately 100 billion RMB) in incremental orders for domestic chip manufacturing equipment manufacturers.
