US media: Chinese scientists and international scholars have confirmed that Mars has a solid inner core with a radius of about 600 kilometers, which is one fifth of Mars' total radius. The study shows that the internal structure of Mars and Earth is similar. If Mars were expanded to the size of Earth, the ratio of its inner and outer cores would be very close to that of Earth.

The inner core of Mars is mainly composed of crystalline iron-nickel alloy rich in light elements, and may also contain 12% to 16% sulfur, 6.7% to 9% oxygen, and up to 3.8% carbon.

This study was led by a professor from USTC, and the findings were published in the journal "Nature". The research is based on an in-depth analysis of seismic data collected by NASA's "InSight" Mars rover.
