South Korean media: BYD's monthly sales hit a new high this year!

On June 20, South Korean media "The Korea Herald" published an article stating that China's electric vehicle company BYD set a new record for monthly sales this year last month. As BYD is expected to focus more on increasing sales, including significantly lowering its sales prices in China, fierce competition among Chinese electric vehicle companies is also anticipated to intensify.

BYD recently announced that its new energy vehicle sales last month were 382,476 units. Among them, pure electric vehicle sales were 204,369 units, and plug-in hybrid vehicle sales were 172,561 units. This has set a new record for the highest monthly sales this year.

However, considering the annual target, BYD needs to further increase its sales. BYD's sales target for this year is 5.5 million units, and as of last month, it has sold 1.76 million units. Last year's total sales were 4,272,148 units.

In fact, BYD has recently promoted sales by significantly reducing vehicle prices. Last month, BYD announced that it would reduce the prices of over 20 models by up to 34%.

As the largest company, BYD has launched an offensive, and companies such as Li Auto, Geely Automobile, and Chery Automobile have also announced price reductions.

The industry interprets this as an intention to expand market share by targeting competitors. However, there are concerns that this may lead to a decline in profitability across the entire industry.
