Korean media: Global influence ranking, the US first, South Korea seventh, where is China?

On January 8, the Korean media "Chosun Ilbo" published an article stating that South Korea surpassed France in the 2025 global most influential countries ranking and ranked seventh.

According to the American business media "CEOWORLD," South Korea scored 94.18 points and ranked seventh in the "Most Influential Countries."

The United States scored 95.36 points and ranked first, while China (94.86 points) and Russia (94.81 points) ranked second and third respectively.

India scored 94.76 points and ranked fourth, the UK scored 94.56 points and ranked fifth, and Japan scored 94.31 points and ranked sixth. South Korea ranked seventh, followed by France, Italy, Turkey, etc.

"CEOWORLD" explained the reason for the United States' first place, stating that "the United States has the world's largest developed economy and a large capital market, and it has a huge defense budget, allowing it to project military power around the world. The United States plays a leading role in international organizations and dominates key technology fields."

"CEOWORLD" added, "The soft power of the United States is formed through global entertainment, digital platforms, higher education, cultural exports, and global discourse, strengthening formal power through informal influence."

This ranking was calculated by a comprehensive assessment of 190 countries across seven categories: political stability, economic influence, defense budget, weapon systems, global alliances, cultural influence, and military strength.

"CEOWORLD" said that in order to publish this ranking, they conducted a total of 296,400 global surveys by phone and online, and gave scores based on the survey results as well as data from international organizations and economic research institutions.
