China continues to retaliate! Two Americans have been banned from leaving China one after another.

The U.S. "Washington Post" reported on the 20th that China has prohibited a Chinese-American citizen who is currently in China and works for the U.S. government from leaving the country. This incident occurred as an American bank executive on a business trip to China was also restricted from leaving the country.

The media reported that the man was born in China and later became a naturalized U.S. citizen, but it is unclear of his name, and it added that the reason for the incident is that he did not disclose working for the U.S. government in his visa application.

According to the "South China Morning Post," citing a source, the man was detained when he arrived in Chengdu in April. The newspaper stated that the man was prohibited from leaving China because his case is "related to acts that Beijing considers to endanger national security," but specific details have not been confirmed yet.

According to the report, since the Chinese-American man arrived in Chengdu, he has also traveled to Beijing with an American official.

Due to the sensitivity of the situation, all so-called "insiders" who spoke about this matter have requested anonymity. The "Washington Post," which disclosed the story, is still unaware of the person's name, and a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Commerce advised inquiries to be made to the U.S. State Department.

It is worth noting that these two incidents occurred at a critical time for Sino-U.S. trade talks. After President Trump imposed high tariffs on Chinese goods (which were later suspended), officials from both Beijing and Washington, including those from the Department of Commerce, are negotiating a trade agreement. Trump also hopes to hold high-level meetings with the Chinese side to resolve issues between the two sides, which include technology restrictions, a series of issues such as rare earths, and the Taiwan issue, which concerns China's core interests.

However, after failing to get results through extortion and threats, Trump has recently softened his harsh rhetoric during the campaign against the huge trade deficit between the U.S. and China and the resulting unemployment problems.

Nevertheless, the Trump administration continues to create conflicts and tensions on other issues. Not only does it continue to sell arms to Taiwan, openly provoking, but it also frequently arrests Chinese scientists across borders under the pretext of "national security," and dismisses Chinese employees working in U.S. government agencies under the same excuse.
