United Nations Ready to Help Respond to the Earthquake in Kamchatka Peninsula!
Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, stated that the United Nations is ready to provide support for post-disaster recovery efforts in the Kamchatka Peninsula if needed.
"The strong earthquake on the eastern coast of Russia is one of the strongest in the region in decades, triggering tsunami alerts and evacuation orders across the Pacific region, including some areas in Asia and the Americas. Our colleagues at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs continue to monitor the situation in some countries. According to preliminary data, there has been no serious damage. If help is needed, we are ready to support any efforts to address the consequences."
