The Russian Ministry of Transport: Russia and China to Cooperate in Unmanned Technology Field
According to a statement released by the Federal Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, after attending the 10th World Drone Congress 2026 in Shenzhen, Russian Minister of Transport Nikitin stated that Russia and China are preparing to cooperate in the field of unmanned technologies, with Russia aiming to initiate joint projects and sign mutually beneficial agreements.
The message says: "Russia and China are preparing to cooperate in the field of unmanned technologies. During his official visit to China, Minister Nikitin visited the exhibition booth at the 10th World Drone Congress. Nikitin expressed hope that the congress could strengthen international cooperation, enabling representatives from governments and enterprises to launch joint projects and sign mutually beneficial agreements."
The Russian Ministry of Transport noted that delegations from both private and state-owned companies committed to developing cooperative chains in Russia also participated in the event.
Quoting Minister Nikitin’s remarks in a press release from the Ministry of Transport: "Currently, drones hold special significance for international cooperation. Civilian drones, vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL), logistics platforms, and digital solutions for airspace management have become integral parts of transportation systems, transforming perceptions regarding mobility, material flow, industrial monitoring, infrastructure development, and security assurance."
The Russian Ministry of Transport pointed out that simultaneously, transitioning accumulated technological capabilities into practical applications remains a key task.
