Media: US and Hamas reach a "transfer of weapons in exchange for retaining party status" agreement

According to sources quoted by Sky News Arabic, the US has reached an agreement with Hamas, under which the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas will hand over its weapons and maps of underground tunnels in Gaza in exchange for retaining its party status.

The TV station pointed out that according to the agreement, Hamas' political and military leaders will be allowed to leave the Gaza Strip. Washington will guarantee that Israel will not pursue them in the future, including those already abroad.

A source told the channel: "Hamas has reached an agreement with the US government to hand over weapons and maps of underground tunnels in Gaza in exchange for the organization retaining its party status and not facing any action."

Israel rejected some terms of the agreement, particularly the clause regarding Hamas retaining its party status.

The source added: "Washington plans to include some police personnel affiliated with Hamas and former members of the movement in the new Gaza government, provided they pass careful scrutiny by the US and Israel."

On Thursday, during the signing of the "Peace Committee" charter in Gaza, President Donald Trump of the United States demanded that Hamas lay down its arms. In his words, otherwise "this will be their end."
