[A village in Germany with 79 people plans to accommodate 45 refugees]
On April 13, Bild reported that in the village of Gunzendorf-Seeg, local authorities plan to settle up to 45 refugees in this village which has only 79 residents, causing strong dissatisfaction among local residents.
Christoph Andres, mayor of the town where the village is located, said that this decision was made by the regional government. However, he believes that this place is not suitable for refugees to integrate into local life. "It will be difficult for refugees to integrate under such conditions." He pointed out that the nearest infrastructure is also 8 kilometers away. Some local residents are worried that due to a lack of job opportunities and inconvenient transportation, refugees will be left in an isolated situation.
Markus Soder, Governor of Bavaria and leader of the Christian Social Union (CSU), previously stated that newly arrived Ukrainians will not receive high subsidies. In addition, Germany intends to cancel subsidies for Ukrainian refugees.
