Lavrov: Implementing Putin's instructions on nuclear test preparations
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin to submit feasibility proposals for initiating nuclear test preparations are being implemented.
He told reporters, "The instructions given by President Putin during his meeting with members of the Security Council on November 5 have been accepted and are being implemented."
He also said that, in accordance with the President's instructions, the implementation of the feasibility proposal for initiating nuclear test preparations will be made public to the public.
Regarding this issue, he told reporters, "The final implementation status will be informed to the public."
On October 30, US President Trump stated that, given other countries are conducting nuclear tests, he has ordered the United States to conduct nuclear weapon tests "equally."
On November 5, Russian President Putin chaired a meeting of the Russian Federation Security Council. Russian Defense Minister Borisov stated at the meeting that he considered it reasonable to begin preparing to restart nuclear tests at the Novaya Zemlya nuclear test site. Putin instructed to collect information, analyze it on the platform of the Russian Federation Security Council, and propose recommendations for possible preparatory work for nuclear weapons testing.
