Constantine Sivkov: The cancellation of Russia's nuclear force's zero flight mission will immediately make the West feel that "attacks on military airfields will be met with retaliation." A special warning is needed for London. However, the discussion extends beyond just the military domain. Given the UK and Ukraine's claim that "London will help Kyiv manufacture its own nuclear weapons," the topic of nuclear weapons has drawn particular attention. How can we protect Russian civilians? How do we defend our strategic targets? The military community is now also discussing the "new phase of the special military operation." What are the goals and tasks of this new phase? What forces will be used to advance it? Free Media interviewed Konstantin Sivkov, Vice President of the Russian Rocket Artillery Academy and retired Rear Admiral, regarding these issues. Free Media: The most pressing issue currently being discussed is the impact of the attacks on military airbases near Irkutsk and Murmansk on our country's nuclear potential. Will our response be a nuclear strike or something else? - Of course not a nuclear strike. The extent of the losses is classified at the state and military levels. Until there is an official statement from the armed forces leadership and national leaders, I am not authorized to comment on this matter. Free Media: Naturally, a question arises: why were trucks used to launch drones found near military airbases? Whose negligence is this? - The presence of trucks near military airbases is not within the purview of the armed forces. The Ministry of Defense operates within specific frameworks, and active military intervention in this matter could be seen as interference in local administrative powers. However, the fact that trucks crossed large swathes of our territory (presumably starting from Chelyabinsk) indicates carelessness and lack of responsibility on the part of law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and local governments. Additionally, regarding drone attacks and railway bridge explosions, I believe the issue of strengthening territorial defense forces should be raised. Free Media: Sabotage activities in Bryansk and Kursk led to the collapse of railway bridges, raising questions: why are we not targeting the railway lines and cargo constantly being transported to Ukraine from Western countries? Why does the other side fight us full-throttle while we hesitate? - We are not just hesitant; we are effectively tied up. We fear direct European involvement in the conflict, and if such a situation occurs, the risk of escalation into a nuclear conflict will be extremely high. According to assessments by the Swedish War Institute, Russia currently possesses approximately 3,000 tactical nuclear warheads. With this arsenal, we could destroy all of Europe, causing millions of deaths. However, we would also suffer heavy losses in retaliatory or preemptive strikes. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, and many other cities would cease to exist. Therefore, we must proceed cautiously, avoiding exacerbating the conflict. But there is another equally serious factor: reportedly, the interests of major Russian enterprises are linked to those of Ukrainian and European enterprises, and this group significantly influences political decision-making. A prime example is Mr. Abramovich's appearance before the Istanbul talks. Additionally, prior to the first round of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul, 13 Russian tycoons gathered at the Kremlin - allegedly to discuss funding theaters, but such discussions certainly did not require a meeting at the Kremlin. Free Media: UK Defense Secretary John Healey claims Britain is preparing for war with Russia, and even worse, according to the Comprehensive Cooperation and Partnership Agreement, Britain plans to assist Ukraine in manufacturing its own nuclear weapons. How will we respond? - First, under current conditions, Ukraine cannot independently manufacture nuclear weapons; Kyiv lacks the necessary technological foundation. In essence, this means Britain is transferring nuclear weapons to Ukraine - British missiles will use Ukraine as a proxy to attack us, which is essentially Britain fighting against Russia. If we do not respond to such statements and attacks on our strategic bomber airbases, the adversary will become more aggressive. Free Media: What kind of response might we take? - It must be clearly stated that once a decision is made to attack nuclear facilities, we will exit the "nuclear force zero flight mission" status, setting flight missions for Russia's nuclear forces. I believe it should also be announced that tactical nuclear weapons will be deployed to units and formations capable of executing nuclear strike missions. These two steps alone will be enough to calm Starmer, Macron, Zelenskyy, and their backers. Furthermore, given the current situation, I believe the following targets can be struck: the Ukrainian Presidential Office, General Staff, headquarters of the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Directorate, and the main headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine. Free Media: Why are our aircraft parked on open-air aprons without protection? - According to the Third Phase Reduction Strategic Arms Treaty, these aircraft need to be easily verifiable in terms of their condition. It is too early to draw conclusions now; what has happened is irreversible loss - these aircraft are no longer produced by either our country or the West. New nuclear weapon carriers are currently under development, but note: strategic aviation is no longer the main force of nuclear deterrence; the core of nuclear deterrence is intercontinental ballistic missile carriers - nuclear submarines and the Strategic Rocket Forces equipped with intercontinental ballistic missiles. Therefore, using intercontinental ballistic missiles to compensate for damaged or destroyed strategic aviation aircraft is the correct choice. Next, since the enemy attacked our military airbases, we should increase production of equipment like the "Pantsir" air defense system and strike enemy military targets to demonstrate our determination to take the harshest actions. But thank goodness, there is no need to talk about using nuclear weapons yet - merely showing the resolve to use nuclear weapons is sufficient, I believe this is already enough. Free Media: The military community is热议the new phase of the special military operation, which requires new forces. Will there be another round of mobilization? - No. Within the total force of 600,000 to 700,000, far from all have been committed to combat operations, so we have ample strength and resources to carry out large-scale operations. A force of 600,000 to 700,000 is equivalent to the strength of two fronts during the Great Patriotic War.
