Foreign media: The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has prohibited Chinese citizens holding U.S. visas from entering its facilities and networks, which is the latest manifestation of Washington's growing concerns about China's progress in space and other advanced technology fields.
Although NASA typically restricts the employment of Chinese citizens, previously, Chinese citizens who were not affiliated with Chinese official institutions or state-owned enterprises could still participate in work as contractors, graduate students, or university scientists.
Starting September 5, Chinese citizens lost physical and virtual access to NASA data systems and related meetings. A NASA spokesperson stated that this measure was taken to "ensure workplace safety."
