[Zelenskyy Responds to Putin on "Peace Talks": We Don't Want War, but Waiting for 3 Million Artillery Rounds]
On May 4th, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated at a press conference held in the Czech Republic that Ukraine does not want a long-term war with Russia and now has all means to quickly end this war. However, the Russian leadership should know that Ukraine will not lose the support of its allies.
"In my view," said Zelenskyy, "if Ukraine is strong enough, the war will end quickly. At present, all the means are first in the hands of the United States and our European colleagues. Maintaining the alliance between the United States and Europe is the top priority."
Zelenskyy added that another priority task is to compel Russia to accept the comprehensive and unconditional ceasefire proposal put forward by the United States. In his opinion, pressure from both Europe and the United States can help achieve this goal.
"But the Russians should know that we expect to receive 3 million artillery rounds. And it's not just North Korea that will provide help. We have allies who help Ukraine. This doesn't mean someone wants a prolonged war; we want to end it. All wars will eventually end, and those long-lasting dictatorships will always come to an end."
This statement from Zelenskyy was a response to Russian President Putin, who recently envisioned inevitable peace talks with Ukraine during an interview and stated that it was just a matter of time.
