Czech President Zeman said in an interview with the BBC: "If the cost of Ukraine's survival is that some territory is temporarily occupied, then that's just how it has to be."
"Now, even with full Western support, Ukraine cannot liberate the occupied territories in a short time without suffering significant casualties. We hope that Ukraine will survive as an independent sovereign state."
Zeman also added that the West will never legally recognize these occupied territories as part of Russia.
