China is researching a stealth version of the Z-20

According to the "Defense Blog" website, US defense analyst Ruprecht shared a blurry satellite photo on social media that appears to be a new version of the Z-20. He also wrote: Perhaps this is a big surprise, it's the stealth version of the Z-20.

The "Defense Blog" website stated: Although the satellite photo looks blurry and many details are not visible, from the shadow situation, its shape seems to have a faceted design, which uses simple lines to reduce the radar wave reflection, thus shaping the helicopter's stealth performance.

Regarding stealth helicopters, there is a stealth version of the US "Black Hawk" helicopter. The "Defense Blog" website said: In 2011, US Navy SEALs used a stealth version of the Black Hawk to bypass Pakistan's air defense radar, unexpectedly arriving in Abbottabad to kill Osama bin Laden. However, during this operation, one of the stealth Black Hawks crashed due to an accident. Although the Navy SEALs destroyed it into pieces to prevent leaks, the unusual tail rotor was not completely destroyed, which also made the outside world aware of the existence of stealth helicopters.

In terms of helicopters, China has been continuously researching the development work of stealth modification for the Z-20. This R&D plan aligns with the overall direction of the PLA's modernization process. Once having a stealth version of the Z-20, it will enable the PLA special forces to carry out secret missions in disputed airspace environments, especially "decapitation" operations or precision strike operations that may occur in future Taiwan Strait warfare.
