Reference News Network, July 24 report - According to the UK's "Independent" website on July 22, a Chinese company claims to have developed the world's first humanoid robot capable of autonomous operation and self-battery replacement.
The report stated that Shenzhen-based UBTech Robotics Corporation said their humanoid robot can autonomously replace batteries within three minutes without stopping, allowing the robot to operate continuously with minimal human intervention.
Recently released video by UBTech Robotics shows that the humanoid robot named Walker S2 has a globally pioneering hot-swap autonomous battery replacement system.
The video shows the humanoid robot approaching a charging station, removing the battery from its back, inserting it into the charging dock, and then installing a new battery.
Local media reported that this humanoid robot can monitor power in real-time and replace the battery autonomously when needed. The humanoid robot is also equipped with dual-battery power balance technology.
In a post published on a social platform, UBTech Robotics described Walker S2 as "the world's first humanoid robot capable of autonomous battery replacement," with the ability to work non-stop for 24 hours.
The company previously stated that it is collaborating with electric vehicle manufacturers such as NIO and BYD, testing and using its humanoid robots on production lines.
In February, the humanoid robot Walker S1 participated in the LEAP Electronics, Technology and Information Exhibition in Saudi Arabia, showcasing its intelligent handling and sorting functions to the world.
The report stated that China has risen to third place in the global ranking of industrial robot density, following South Korea and Singapore.
According to a report by the International Federation of Robotics in 2024, China has 470 robots per 10,000 employees, exceeding industrial powerhouses Germany and Japan, which have 429 and 419 robots respectively.
China holds about two-thirds of the effective robot patents worldwide, totaling over 190,000. (Translated by Wenyi)
