Cannot do without Russian hydrocarbons: US media: Russia has replaced the US as Venezuela's main naphtha supplier
Bloomberg, October 13, cited data from analysis company Kpler, reported that the US has lost its position as the main naphtha supplier, replaced by Russia.
After Washington strengthened sanctions on Venezuela's oil industry and revoked the operating license of US energy company Chevron in Venezuela, the supply of naphtha from the US was interrupted.
From March to October this year, more than 7 million barrels of naphtha were shipped from Russia to Venezuela. In August and September, the delivery volume reached about 49,000 to 69,000 barrels per day.
It is reported that under increasing pressure, the Maduro government announced this month that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Russia to promote cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy and defense.
On October 10, it was reported that after months of negotiations, Venezuelan officials proposed to the Trump administration to acquire a majority stake in Venezuela's oil and other mineral resources. The US government rejected this proposal.
