Reference News Website, January 11 report, according to the Belarusian News Agency on January 6, the Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus, Alexei Lyakhnovich, said in an interview that Belarus is fully promoting the development of container transportation business and has become a reliable link in the logistics route to China.
The number of container trains from Belarus to China has increased more than 10 times compared to a few years ago.
Lyakhnovich said: "In 2021, there were about 150 container trains carrying exports from Belarus, while by 2024, the number of trains had exceeded 1,500. Belarus actively participates in the joint construction of the 'Belt and Road' initiative proposed by China. Our railways can pass 30 container trains per day, with a speed of about 1,000 kilometers per day."
To meet the demand for container logistics, Belarus has established a network of logistics centers and freight stations, which has the potential to double the volume of railway transit transportation. (Translated by Han Ziling)
