He took office as Senior Vice President and President of General Motors China in June 2024. In his first year in this role, General Motors sold 1.8 million vehicles in China; from January to October this year, General Motors China's cumulative sales reached 1.76 million units.
During his tenure as President of General Motors China, Steve Hill led a series of business restructurings, enabling the company to achieve profitability for four consecutive quarters in the Chinese market and becoming the only global automaker to see an increase in market share this year.
