Foreign media: The radar detection range of China's J-20 fighter has been increased by 3 times, thanks to the breakthrough of Shandong University of China's research team in the field of silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor materials over the past 20 years.
Shandong University of China stated that this material significantly enhances the detection capability of phased array radars, enabling Chinese radars to detect enemy forces faster and gain the initiative.
J-20 (Jian-20) is a twin-engine stealth fighter developed by China, considered as the rival of the US F-22 Raptor. It was officially put into service in March 2017.
