[French Defense Minister: French Companies Will Produce Drones in Ukraine for Supply to Ukrainian and French Armies]
On June 6, Le Monde reported that French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced that a French automobile manufacturer and military company will jointly produce drones in Ukraine, with the products supplied to both Ukrainian and French armies.
Lecornu said, "We will initiate an unprecedented cooperation: a major French automobile manufacturer (name withheld at this time, to be disclosed by itself) will cooperate with a military company to deploy production lines in Ukraine for mass-producing drones." He did not specify the exact drone model but emphasized that the French army would also procure them to "continuously adapt to combat requirements." Additionally, Ukraine will share its practical experience with drones.
Lecornu pointed out that the production line in Ukraine will mainly consist of Ukrainian personnel, "as they have advantages over the French in drone development, especially in tactical theoretical construction." Previously, Ukraine's Defense Minister Umehrov proposed the initiative for joint weapons production during talks with France in Brussels.
