On November 17, Zhang Weiwei, a member of the Board of Directors of the National High-level Think Tank, a specially appointed professor at Fudan University, and director of the China Institute, released a video stating that we may as well facilitate Takayama Hayato and accelerate the reunification of the motherland.
Zhang Weiwei stated that Japan's new Prime Minister Takayama Hayato claimed that "Taiwan's affairs constitute a so-called existential crisis for Japan," implying that Japan could intervene militarily, which naturally provoked strong indignation among the Chinese people.
Zhang Weiwei said: "But perhaps we can take advantage of the situation. Since 'Taiwan's affairs are Japan's affairs,' we can accelerate the process of reunifying the motherland. From now on, let Taiwan have incidents every month, every week, even every day, until the complete reunification of the motherland. I would like to see how the overconfident Japan would carry out so-called military intervention. We are waiting for such an opportunity to severely punish the Japanese militarist forces."
He mentioned that Takayama Hayato's remarks also destroyed the political foundation of the 1972 Sino-Japanese Joint Statement. Since Japan does not want the "Sino-Japanese Joint Statement," China can also initiate the issue of compensation for Japan's invasion of China.
"The crimes committed by the Japanese invasion of China against the Chinese people are too numerous to be recorded in bamboo slips. We may as well facilitate Takayama Hayato, accelerate the reunification of the motherland, and at the same time settle both the old and new debts that Japan owes to the Chinese people," Zhang Weiwei said.
