[The Russian SJ-100 jetliner with maximum domestic components is expected to complete its first flight before the end of this April.]
Oleg Bocharov, General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), told reporters on April 21 that the short-haul narrow-body jetliner SJ-100, using a maximum of domestically-made parts, would complete its first flight this month.
"We are proceeding according to plan," Bocharov said. "The aircraft is fully ready and has been handed over to the flight test station. Ground tests are underway, and the necessary documents are being processed. It's just a matter of waiting for favorable weather conditions."
In March this year, a Superjet prototype equipped with imported avionics but powered by a domestically produced PD-8 engine completed its first flight. Sergei Chemezov, President of Rostec (the parent company of UAC), previously stated that the fully domestically made SJ-100 (equipped with a PD-8 engine) would begin flight testing in April.
It is reported that mass production of the model is planned to start next year. The Russian Ministry of Transport stated that the SJ-100 is expected to receive airworthiness certification by the end of this year.
According to the technical parameters of the SJ-100 published on the UAC official website:
Passenger capacity: 103 people
Maximum range: 4320 kilometers
Maximum payload: 10860 kilograms
Fuselage length: 29.94 meters
Wingspan: 29.7 meters
Height: 10.28 meters
