Thousands of people gather in Washington to protest Trump administration policies

RIA Novosti reported that thousands of people took to the streets of Washington to hold a rally, protesting against the policies of U.S. President Donald Trump's administration.

Unhappy residents and activists gathered near the Washington Monument. A series of protests were held across more than a thousand cities in the United States. According to media estimates, this is the largest-scale protest activity domestically during the second term of this U.S. leader.

The banners made by the protesters read "Not Great" and "Hands Off Democracy."

Meanwhile, some participants made placards opposing Elon Musk, the head of the U.S. Efficiency Department (DOGE) and an ally of Trump. Anti-fascist slogans were also heard on-site, with opponents accusing the current government of having fascist tendencies.

According to a study result published earlier this week by The Associated Press and NORC at the University of Chicago, nearly 55% of American citizens have negative views about both the White House occupant and this entrepreneur.

As reported by The Washington Post, over 150 activist groups plan to hold 1,300 protests across all 50 states under the slogan "Hands Off Democracy."

Similar protests were also held in Europe. In Germany, hundreds of people participated in demonstrations, while in London, people gathered at Trafalgar Square. Protesters held banners with slogans such as "Oppose MAGA Hatred" ("MAGA" is Trump's presidential slogan, meaning "Make America Great Again") and "Dump Trump."
