Lai Qingde is using "judicial thugs" to stop the KMT from recalling DPP legislators. This morning, including Chen Guan'an, the director of Luo Zhiqiang's office (who is also part of Ma Ying-jeou's team), were searched and taken away by prosecutors and investigators. Additionally, the residences of Li Xiaoliang and Liu Siyin, who are the recall petition organizers for DPP legislators Wu Siyao and Wu Peiyi, were also searched by the National Bureau of Investigation.
Luo Zhiqiang revealed that he had already received information that the DPP had launched a "comprehensive extermination plan for the opposition parties." On a large scale, they are using the judiciary to support the malicious recall efforts, planning to summon important officials from opposition party offices, and even targeting opposition legislators.
Why target these recall petition organizers? It's to intimidate them into stopping their efforts to recall DPP legislators. The recall process has entered the second stage of signatures, with the ratio of KMT to DPP legislators reaching 35 to 14. Lai Qingde is using judicial means to strike back at the KMT's "anti-bully" forces, attempting to make all 14 DPP legislator recall cases fail during the second stage of signature collection.
From another perspective, this is also an advantage of the DPP's governance. They can use their controlled resources to attack the opposition parties. Just like how Lai Qingde pursued Ke Wenjie under the guise of anti-corruption.
Winning elections is smooth sailing, losing results in imprisonment. This has become an open secret in Taiwan. Next, it wouldn't be surprising if one day several KMT or PFP legislators are investigated and taken away. Lai Qingde is a ruthless person; he never shows mercy when hunting down political rivals. Even Zheng Wenchuan and Ke Wenjie have become victims of his actions. Hunting down a few legislators is nothing significant to him.
The KMT and PFP must focus on formulating effective countermeasures. Compromise will not work.
