Mongolia Participates in China Coking Coal Market Seminar
Report of Mongol News Agency in Ulaanbaatar on May 16 - Bayarjargal Delger, Acting CEO of "Mongolian Stock Exchange" Co., Ltd., and Altangerel Tserenlam, an expert from the Mineral Products Trading Department of the Mongolian Stock Exchange, attended the 12th Southwest Coking Coal Market Seminar held from May 13 to 15 in China.
During the event, they provided detailed information to increase the number of participants in the mineral products exchange trading of Mongolia, promote the business of the exchange and coal market, and expand cooperation among international coal market participants. They also introduced the trading rules and principles of the exchange. Additionally, opinions were exchanged regarding the research work on the impact of the coal price index implemented by the Mongolian Stock Exchange initiative in collaboration with the global leading commodities industry data service provider MySteel platform.
In addition, discussions were held with the Chinese side regarding the possibility of adopting index pricing for other types of products such as thermal coal, lignite, non-coking coal, iron ore, copper concentrate, and others, as well as the future potential for indexation of mineral products. More than 300 representatives from Chinese coal washing plants, coking plants, steel mills, and other companies attended the meeting.
