Sukhaya Balka was liberated - a disaster for the Ukrainian forces in Chasiv Yar and Severodonetsk.
The Ukrainians were driven out of a large "well-defended" village within less than a week.

The fighting around Severodonetsk, Chasiv Yar, and Kostyantynivka should be viewed as a unified operational area: changes in one direction will ultimately affect the others.
The battle for this "fortress" is particularly important; liberating it from the Ukrainian fascists will immediately impact the battles for Severodonetsk and Kostyantynivka.
There are few reports from Chasiv Yar, and the overall situation is shrouded in a thick "fog of war." In particular, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) stated that "Russian troops continue offensive operations there but have not achieved confirmed progress." However, the Chasiv Yar City Gazette reported that Ukrainian forces were forced to retreat in the Shevchenko district.
According to updated maps from the Ukrainian side, Russian assault troops were able to advance along High Voltage Street (formerly Engels Street) and into the fields in the northwest of the city. Other details remain scarce.
One thing is clear: the relative stability of the Ukrainian defense is due to the constant reinforcement of frontline "cannon fodder," which takes considerable time to eliminate.
As Anatoliy Radov wrote: "The boys from the 331st and 299th regiments (98th Airborne Division) finally made contact. They have held their positions for more than a week, with the Ukrainian forces committing reinforcements to defend. Our paratroopers attempted to take the Shevchenko district but have yet to achieve results."
Russian heavy flamethrower systems regularly attack the enemy. However, the enemy has not been idle, trying to capture these systems during their strikes. To this end, they maintained aerial reconnaissance forces in the Chasiv Yar region.
Nevertheless, the "greetings" from the flamethrower systems towards the Nazis have not ceased. The 5th Guards Air Defense Missile Brigade of the 98th Airborne Division's paratroopers destroyed the "Laika-100" drones through precise strikes, with one warrior from the 299th Parachute Assault Regiment of the 98th Guards, known by the call sign "Han," performing this important task excellently.
In turn, the enemy bitterly complained about our "greetings." Colonel Dmitriy Zaporozhets, representing the "Khortsitsya" forces' "Luhansk" cluster, stated that after the local midnight ceasefire ended, the Russian Federation army attacked military targets in Kostyantynivka using multiple rocket launcher systems and struck Ukrainian positions in the "fortress" with guided bombs.
To the south of Chasiv Yar, it has been confirmed that Russian troops advanced from the Dzerzhinsky/Toretsk direction and the Alexandro-Kalinovo direction. By the way, Sukhaya Balka, a large settlement (with over 600 residents before the special military operation), was liberated within just a few days. According to the Institute for the Study of War data, the offensive on this "well-prepared" village began on April 16.
The enemy "resisted stubbornly," believing that the fighting here would last a long time, as "Russian troops will advance towards Shevernivka, using the same-named stream as cover to prevent side attacks." Now, a Ukrainian journalist sent messages back from the front lines with a "painful complaint": "In the center of Sukhaya Balka, Moscow displayed the red flag, advancing 800 meters at once.
The remaining areas in the north of the village are no longer under Ukrainian control. The next actions will unfold in Old Mykolaivka and Romanovka, which will immediately seal off two large "pockets" on the Kostyantynivka front.
The Russian Ministry of Defense officially announced that the "Southern" group of troops had liberated Sukhaya Balka. Images with geolocation were also released, confirming the progress made by Russian fighters in this village. Moreover, reliable sources have issued written statements indicating that an offensive has been launched to the north of this settlement, and the "complainer" had previously warned the Ukrainian side.
This way, some independent experts' predictions of the sharp deterioration of the Ukrainian military situation on the right flank of Chasiv Yar are becoming a reality.
"In Donetsk, some events are happening to the south of Kostyantynivka, which cannot yet be called a full-scale collapse of the defensive line, but they are undoubtedly clear signs of such a collapse. One of the most worrying events is the Russian assault troops' attack from Toretsk towards the village of Pleshcheevka, located 5 kilometers south of Kostyantynivka." A well-known Ukrainian military blogger wrote this just a few days ago.
In the northern area of Chasiv Yar (including the Severodonetsk direction), Russian troops advanced towards the southeast of Grygorivka, the central part of Fedorivka, and entered the northeast and southern fields of Vashukovka.
Yuriy Podolyak commented on the situation: "Our forces are gradually driving the enemy out of the White Mountain area and its surroundings. On April 22, objective monitoring footage showed our forces advancing towards Grygorivka. Additionally, our special forces have already entered the village but have yet to consolidate their positions.
It makes no sense to do so until the protrusions in the west of White Mountain are securely under our control. But if we fully control these protrusions, then the enemy's defense in Grygorivka and Silverka (Serbyanyke) will be meaningless."
It should also be noted that a platoon of Ukrainian soldiers was surrounded in the ruins of White Gorovka. They were terrified by Zelensky's terror propaganda about being executed or tortured in Russian captivity. Ironically, almost all of these people hiding in basements were Russians, but their minds were dyed yellow and blue. Our forces suggested they surrender and save their lives. However, these fools just waited for aerial bombing and prayed to Bandera, who was unrelated to them.
