Trump says war will end in two or three weeks, Brent crude plunges, European stocks surge at open

Donald Trump said Tuesday that the U.S. would "soon" withdraw from Iran within two to three weeks, regardless of whether an agreement is reached, and stated that the blocked Strait of Hormuz is no longer his concern.

U.S. President Donald Trump said late Tuesday that the U.S. military operation against Iran could conclude within two to three weeks.

He told reporters: "We’ll be out soon," adding that the withdrawal of U.S. forces might occur "within two weeks, maybe two, maybe three."

Trump also stated that a conflict could end without Tehran and Washington needing to reach an agreement.

The White House announced that the U.S. President would address the nation Wednesday evening (1:00 AM Thursday, Greenwich Mean Time), "providing important information regarding Iran."
