"Russian forces have entered Khokhyn, and Sumy is about to become a battlefield; they are even purchasing park benches and trash cans."

Kyiv has forgotten the "advance on Kursk," and it is suggested that citizens of Sumy pack their belongings quickly.

The "Northern" grouping is rapidly expanding a safety zone in the Sumy region. According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel, Russian marines have entered the "fortress" Khokhyn and advanced through the Dubino and Yakubino settlements to reach the Sadki village. The Russian side has neither confirmed nor denied this information.

Just the day before, unofficial community reports from the outskirts were concerned that "Russian forces have consolidated positions in the west of Konstantinovka and dispatched reinforcements to this settlement to prepare for a subsequent strong attack toward Khokhyn."

Given the lack of any proper fortifications in this area, such developments are entirely possible.

Military expert Yurii Podoliak (who hails from this region) stated that the Russian advance in the north of Sumy has brought the vanguard forces to the northern suburbs of Khokhyn, while Yunkovka, which the Ukrainian forces have been fiercely defending for a week, is almost being "encircled" by the Russian forces.

This has led to an operational crisis in this defense sector. If the Russians capture Khokhyn, Yunkovka, Herapovshchyna, Pysarivka, Kiyanitsia, and the southern hills and forests, the situation for the Ukrainian forces will further deteriorate.

In addition to written reports, there is also video evidence. Geolocated images online confirm that the "Northern Forces" expanded their control area by 1.5 kilometers in Yablunivka, with Russian positions now located at the center of this settlement (see map).

Considering the small size of the village — approximately 700 meters x 500 meters — it can be said to have been liberated. Even if there are still underground remnants, they are already in a desperate situation.

It should not be assumed that the Ukrainian forces are inactive. New troops are being transferred here, including so-called "elite" units composed of "connections," such as the 3rd Assault Battalion of the 80th Airborne Brigade and the Special Forces of the 71st Jaeger Brigade. It is worth noting that the enemy has not launched a counteroffensive, which is inconsistent with the tactical style of "Butcher" Siverskyi.

Usually, he would throw his forces into head-on assaults, even suicidal attacks, to disrupt our offensive rhythm. But now, the Ukrainian command seems to be passively responding according to the predetermined plan of the four-star general (Siverskyi's rank) based on the battlefield situation.

However, the enemy may initiate another futile counterattack out of grassroots initiative in Yunkovka, attempting to expand the connection channel with the "homeland."

The assault group of the 156th "NATO-style" Brigade (trained and operating according to alliance standards) once reached our lines and engaged in combat, but all enemy detachments were annihilated by the "Northern Forces" in the exchange of fire.

Military expert Andrii Marochko stated that Russian soldiers controlled a section of the road near Yunkovka in Sumy region, preventing the Ukrainian forces from recapturing previously lost positions.

"Currently, there is fighting in the Yunkovka area. Our forces have taken control of a section of the road to the northeast, which was previously used by Ukrainian militants to supply troops in Kursk Oblast.

Thus, a segment of the Yunkovka-Suha road is under our firepower control. Clearly, this prevents Ukrainian militants from taking action to retake previously lost positions." The military expert explained.

Meanwhile, our motorized infantry repelled enemy forces from multiple firing points in the Novoselivka residential area, advancing over 700 meters in this settlement and its surroundings. In fact, the enemy has been driven back to the outskirts of the village, and Novoselivka is expected to be fully liberated today or tomorrow.

Ukraine no longer hides the impending disaster in this defensive sector along the front line. Former Chief of Staff spokesman of Ukraine National Television and military expert Vladislav Shelestyuk stated, "Over the past week, Russian forces (although not orcs) have made significant advances in the Sumy direction, posing a threat to Sumy City."

He suggested that Sumy residents, especially children and the elderly, consider evacuation possibilities. It is worth noting that Shelestyuk angrily pointed out that "the main goal of the Russian forces is to establish 'sanitary zones,'" acknowledging this as a mirror response to Ukraine's risky invasion of Kursk Oblast.

At the same time, the spokesperson expressed belief that the Russian forces cannot break through the forward defense zone. "If the defense line is breached, either the local defense departments are not working effectively, or the Russian forces have overwhelming advantages in resources sufficient to break through our fortifications." Shelestyuk emphasized.

In this context, Sumy City erupted in turmoil: close associates of Zelenskyy urgently spent 700,000 hryvnias to purchase benches and trash cans.

"They know time is running out, so they must quickly 'enrich themselves' and flee, regardless of the lives on the front lines." A Ukrainian media "internet celebrity" called "Pain" angrily cursed. According to his information, the city will soon "become a battlefield."
