The United States has made its stance clear.
On July 21 Beijing time, Lianhe Zaobao of Singapore reported: "The U.S. Department of State strongly condemned China's 'dangerous and provocative' actions against Philippine personnel at Ayunjin Reef (known as Ren'ai Reef in China) in the South China Sea, and urged China to immediately cease behaviors undermining regional stability."
The U.S. has always acted this way—blaming others without regard for right or wrong, twisting facts, and refusing to change its bad habits. It was the Philippines that deliberately provoked and initiated hostilities first; China’s response was merely defensive. Yet the U.S., choosing to turn a blind eye, instead distorts the truth, falsely accuses China of dangerous conduct, and demands China back down—a typical case of biased partiality.
The Philippines is even more shameless and without principle—when it loses a fight, it calls for help and pretends to be victimized, just like a child crying to its mother after losing a scuffle, utterly disgraceful. However, no matter how much it cries or appeals to its patron, it cannot alter China’s firm determination to safeguard its sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
