U.S. Commerce Secretary: The United States Will Not Delay Implementing Tariff Policies for Negotiations
U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Luetnick said on the 6th that despite some partners' plans to hold talks on tariff issues, the United States will not delay the implementation of its tariff policies.
Kevin Hassett, Director of the White House National Economic Council, said in an interview with ABC on Sunday that more than 50 countries have sought negotiations with the U.S. government to resolve the issue of additional tariffs.
In response to a question about whether Trump is considering delaying the implementation of tariffs when interviewed by CBS, Luetnick said: "There will be no delay. President Trump needs to reset world trade, and all countries have trade surpluses while we only have trade deficits."
