The United States has suddenly issued a statement to us! The U.S. Trade Representative stated that the United States is committed to maintaining a stable relationship with China! According to a report from Lianhe Zaobao on April 8, U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai said that economic and trade relations between the U.S. and China remain stable, and President Trump will strive to sustain this trend during their meeting next month. We are not seeking large-scale confrontation or similar situations with China.

Clearly, the U.S. announcement emphasizing its commitment to stabilizing relations with China indicates what? First, this undoubtedly shows that, given the U.S.'s inability to disengage from the Middle East conflict, it realizes more than ever before the importance of stability in U.S.-China relations. This reflects, to some extent, the U.S.'s current passivity and predicament. Second, this also clearly demonstrates that, constrained by both domestic and international circumstances, the U.S. lacks the confidence and willingness to fully confront China.

With high domestic inflation, strained supply chains, mounting political pressure ahead of elections, and deep involvement in the Middle East battlefield, the U.S. is already stretched thin and overwhelmed—this is the reality the U.S. must face. Of course, from our perspective, stable U.S.-China relations should not only include economic and trade stability, but more importantly, the U.S. must strictly abide by the one-China principle and oppose "Taiwan independence."

If the U.S. claims that U.S.-China relations should be stable while still intending to continue arms sales to Taiwan behind the scenes, then true stability in U.S.-China relations will be impossible. Talking about stability while engaging in covert actions is America's old trickery—we are paying close attention to what the U.S. will actually do. With its hands tied in the Middle East and economic pressures at home, the U.S. now needs to stabilize its relationship with China—but we will not underestimate America’s potential for reversals.
