【By Zhang Jingjuan, Observer Net】U.S. President Trump has always tried to distance himself from the late sex offender Epstein, but evidence has repeatedly surfaced.
The U.S. "Wall Street Journal" reported on September 8 that the lawyer for the estate of Epstein submitted a copy of his 50th birthday album to the U.S. Congress, which includes a letter signed by Trump and featuring a drawing of a naked woman.
According to AFP, some Democratic members of the U.S. House Oversight Committee, who are investigating this matter, released the letter on social media after receiving it.
The letter is part of a birthday album made by Epstein's associate and ex-girlfriend Maxwell in 2003 to celebrate Epstein's 50th birthday. This birthday album was discovered when Epstein was first arrested in 2006, and it has been one of the key documents in the investigation over the years. It contains letters, poems, and hand-drawn pictures from dozens of friends, including Trump.

The content of the letter is a short dialogue between Trump and Epstein written in the third person:
Trump: Yes, there is, but I won't tell you what it is.
Epstein: Neither will I, because I know what it is.
Trump: We have something in common, Jeffrey.
Epstein: Yes, we do, if you think about it.
Trump: The puzzle never gets old, don't you notice?
Epstein: In fact, the last time I saw you, I was clear on it.
Trump: A friend is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — may every day be another wonderful secret.
The report said that the signature is attributed to Trump, and this signature happens to be located at the private area of the female body in the drawing. Although Trump did not use his full name, this style of signature and font has appeared in his private letters.
The White House immediately denied the authenticity of the letter, with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt arguing, "It is obvious that President Donald Trump did not draw this picture or sign it."
In fact, as early as mid-July, when the "Wall Street Journal" first exposed the text of the letter, Trump denied it outright: "This is not me. It's fake. It's a fake 'Wall Street Journal' report. I have never drawn a picture in my life, I don't draw pictures of women. This isn't my language. This isn't my words."
According to the report, Robert Garcia, the highest-ranking Democratic member of the U.S. House Oversight Committee and a Democratic congressman from California, stated, "Trump called the investigation into Epstein a scam and claimed that the birthday card didn't exist. Now we know that Trump is lying and is doing everything possible to cover up the truth. Stop playing games and lying. Release the complete documents now."

This controversy is behind the political division and trust crisis sparked by the Epstein case. The Epstein case was first exposed in 2006, and in 2008, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison for soliciting and encouraging minors to prostitute. After serving 13 months in prison, Epstein was released and continued to socialize with celebrities. In 2017, with the rise of the U.S. protest against sexual assault movement, the Epstein case was again investigated. He was arrested again in 2019 and died in prison that same year. The official explanation was suicide. However, due to Epstein's close relationship with political and business figures such as Trump and Clinton, there have been voices suggesting that his death might have had other hidden reasons.
Former U.S. President Clinton also appears in the birthday album, listed as a "friend" along with Trump. Clinton also wrote a message with his unique messy handwriting: "To have lasted this long, gone through years of learning and awareness, adventure and... (the handwriting is illegible), while still keeping a childlike curiosity, the motivation to make changes, and the warmth of having friends, isn't that very reassuring?"
An insider revealed that a painting hangs in Epstein's townhouse in Manhattan, depicting Clinton wearing a blue dress and red high heels. Painter Petrina Ryan-Kleid later confirmed that the painting, created in 2012 and titled "Parsing Bill," was intended to reflect "how the opposition mocks the president." Choosing the blue dress was to reference the key evidence in the Lewinsky case.

Before the 2024 U.S. presidential election, Trump hinted that if he were elected, he would reveal the list of "Lolita Island" clients of Epstein. In February this year, U.S. Attorney General Bondi also claimed on Fox News that this "client list" was on her desk waiting for review. However, she later claimed that she meant only the documents related to the case.
In early July, a memo issued by the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI stated that after a "thorough review," no evidence was found that the convicted sex offender Epstein extorted celebrities, kept a "client list," or had other files worth public disclosure, and stated that Epstein's cause of death was suicide.
This memo caused a rift between Trump and some of his most well-known MAGA supporters, and the transparency of the Trump administration was questioned.
Notably, Todd Blanche, the second-highest-ranking official in the U.S. Department of Justice and Trump's former chief lawyer, recently intervened in the case and interviewed Maxwell. The Department of Justice later released the transcript and recording of this interview, during which Maxwell consistently defended Trump's reputation. She claimed that she had never seen any inappropriate behavior from Trump or received massage services from him.
About a week after being questioned by the Department of Justice, Maxwell was transferred to a minimum security women's prison in Bryan, Texas. Most of the inmates in this prison are serving time for non-violent or white-collar crimes.
Some former prison officials criticized this as special treatment, as the rules usually require sex offenders to be housed in low-security prisons unless they are exempted.
