China-Kazakhstan Cooperation: LRT Project Employees in Kazakhstan's Capital to Receive Training in China to Enhance Operation and Maintenance Capabilities
Kazakhstan International News Agency, April 1st - To enhance the operational, maintenance, and inspection capabilities of the LRT system, 29 LRT employees will go to China for practical training and internship.
According to the message from the LRT project operator, Capital City Transportation System Company (City Transportation Systems/CTS), this trip to China for training is part of the second phase of the employee training program.
Previously, LRT employees have completed the first phase of training in Astana, during which they received theoretical courses and passed relevant tests.
As scheduled, the Chinese training program will continue until September 1, 2025. It will be jointly organized by Astana City of Kazakhstan and Tianjin City of China.
The training course will be taught by experts from Tianjin Metro and Zhengzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College, focusing on cultivating professional skills in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the LRT system.
Official data shows that between November 2024 and January 2025, a total of 140 people applied for this training program, and finally 29 candidates were selected through the selection process, with an average age of 33 years old.
The training content covers basic knowledge of urban rail transit, key components of the system, and response strategies in emergency situations.
This training plan is implemented under the framework of the EPC contract for the LRT construction project, with China Railway Asia-Europe Construction Investment Co., Ltd. as the contractor.
